I haven't the slightest clue how to go about this, but I'm certantly going to do my best. Twas I who had made a request for The Thermals a few days ago. If not The Thermals, atleast one of the side projects. Like The All Girl Summer Fun Band! Which to my delight, has been done and I was given an invitation to do a post on the thermals myself. So here we go.
Let's see here. Well The Thermals are a high energy punk (slightly pop) band and they
hail from Portland Oregon. They formed in 2002, and have had a couple of line up changes. The current lineup consists of Hutch Harris | guitar & vocals, Kathy Foster | bass and Lorin Coleman | drums. Coleman joined the band in 2006. I've posted the video for the track "Pillar of Salt" off the recent album "The Body, The Blood, The Machine". I suppose you can call it the "hit".
I'm not the kind of person who does a lot of research on my favorite bands. When I find a band I like, I simply buy albums. Which I'm kind of ashamed of. It's not that I'm lazy, I'm just never able to getting around to it. Anyways, it's not easy being a simple powerchord band. You have to be somewhat melodious. In fact, the song right after pillar of salt has the same exact chords! But they pull it off and it is still an awesome song. perhaps I'm partial, but it never hurts to give something (especially music) a chance. I'm not able to upload music because I'm using dial up here, *mopes* but the tracks I'd consider listen worthy are : Pillar of Salt, St. Rosa and the Swallows, and Here's Your Future.
Alright, I'm gonna try and bust a vu here and give some extra info:
Hutch and Kathy have been in other bands together before. Heres the list:
- healeah
- Urban Legends
- Hutch and Kathy
And then of course, Kathy is in AGSFB which is already featured here.
Here are a couple of links if your looking for further info (discography, bio, etc.)

Hope this came out ok.
