Supergrass are from Oxford, England. They rose to fame during the Britpop boom, which is how I first noticed them with the brilliant "Caught by the Fuzz" single. It was nothing I've heard at the time, simply punkpoptastic. By the time the second album came out, I realized that they were a lot mellowier than I had initially thought. In fact, like their name implies, they sound like some good grass :)
Supergrass came to be after Gaz Coombes (singer) met Danny Goffey (drummer) when they were in the band The Jennifers. They've released one single on Nude Records (more on Nude Records later), and broke up.
The two formed a new band, Theodore Supergrass, with Mick Quinn (bassist) in 1993.... They shortly just dropped the prefix and simply became Supergrass.
So anyway, I had a pretty hard time picking out a song. I'm going to go with something from their last album, Road to Rouen, which I thought was just fantastic.
