Also with SXSW kicking off this week, it’s with sad news that we announce that SXSW co-founder Louis Meyers has died at the age of 60. The cause of death is not known, according to abcnews.go.com.
Personally speaking, I think SXSW is the best music festival I’ve ever attended. There is something to be said about 3,000 bands converging in the town of Austin, Texas! The whole event is basically a music “block party” for a full week. Around this time of the year, we’re also seeing an increase in bands coming to our city, simply because they’re touring to SXSW. It’s the best time of the year and we’re truly sad to hear that one of its creator has passed away.
Also English-born Australian singer/songwriter Jon English has died due to complications during surgery, according to yahoo.com.
