After a solo Mike Rosenberg on the first two songs, Andrew Phillips and Alon Cohen joins him on stage. They are normally a five-piece band.....
It's great to be Kate. With the release of Stronger next week (November 19th), Kate Earl is performing a residency at The Hotel Café in Los Angeles all month. Plus, she's heading out on tour this December with UK-based singer-songwriter Passenger (you might recall we saw them in 2008).
Check her out live and find out for yourself why the Wall Street Journal called Kate an "Act to Watch" at this year's CMJ Music Marathon in NYC.

Remember Leerone? Jason reviewed her debut album, Imaginary Biographies, calling her songs, "amazing musical compositions."
Leerone's latest album is called Heart Shaped Bullets and is said to showcase her brand of soul revivalism. If you don't believe it, check out her Soundcloud, where you can stream the entire album for free. Here's "Use My Lips":
Cover lovers should note her The Lost Records: Vol. 1. a free download featuring her covers of Donovan's "Season of the Witch," Doris Troy's "Just One Look," and Black Keys' "Howlin' For You."
You're so vain… Carly Simon has a StageIt show coming up on November 21st, 2012. As I've previously written about StageIt, and had issues with the webcam quality from these shows. However, what they lack in quality, they do make up in giving you a glimpse into the lives of these musicians. They are often casually dressed, sitting in their living room, and would "interact" with their fans.
Carly Simon, along with her two children, Ben Taylor and Sally Taylor, will be performing live from her home on Martha's Vineyard.
This is one of the more expensive show ($20), but part of the proceeds will be going to the Red Cross for victims of Hurricane Sandy. Tickets are limited to 400 viewers, with only 176 tickets left as of this writing. The show is too expensive for my blood, so I'll just sit this one out.

Katy Tiz is a pop singer from the UK. She recently signed with Interscope/Universal Records. They were kind enough to send me her latest single, "Famous" to listen to. The single is available at all major downloads, including Amazon and iTunes.
Her dancey song reminds me a little of Ke$ha, but Tiz doesn't seem to take herself too seriously.
Anyway, her latest new song is called "I Don't Give A …" which you can watch an acoustic version on YouTube. I believe that is her brother on guitar.
I previously mentioned San Francisco's Ash Reiter last xmas. What I didn't mention is that I think 'Ash' is a great girl name, especially because the new Ash in the Evil Dead re-make movie will feature a girl in the lead.
Anyway, Ash Reiter's second album, HOLA, is coming out November 30th on 20 Sided Records. I wonder if that name is in reference to D&D's 20-Sided Die.
They have a ton of tour dates coming up, so check their website for the latest information. Their CD-release show is on November 30th at Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco.
I normally require a band to have released at least a single (or something with a cover artwork), but I like this "Heartdance" song/video from Adventurine enough to at least briefly mention them here. "Heartdance" has this very lo-fi solitary bedroom feel to it.
Absolutely no information was given about them, other than that they are a 2-piece band from the southeast (watching the video, I can only assuming it's a boy/girl duo).
They've been making music together for seven years, but just recently under the Adventurine project name, "for a fresh start." The name is a combination of adventure and aventurine.
