The soundtrack to the film Garnet's Gold is written and composed by Oscar-nominated composer J. Ralph; the soundtrack is available now via Jason Flom’s Lava Records.
Garnet's Gold is a documentary from the two-time Academy Award-winning producer of Searching for Sugar Man and Man on Wire amd features performances by Liza Minnelli and Wynton Marsalis.
Here is J. Ralph's biography:
New York sibling duo Paperwhite (Katie and Ben Marshall) recently played their first UK gig in November, in support of their debut EP Magic.
The 6 song EP came out on Duly Noted Records, and you can hear "Gold" now on soundcloud.com.
Singer Katie Marshall explains, "It's six individual songs that center around a theme of creating a new world with someone. We're thrilled to be able share them with everyone. This year has been a year of magic for us and we can't wait to show you what's in store in the upcoming year."
Perth's Thee Gold Blooms have released their new single "Katie-Sue" (released December 5th, 2014), described as "garage rock with a bit of country swagger".
The quartet (Dylan on guitars, Jase on additional guitar, Goldy on bass, and Sean on drums) will be debuting their self-titled album with a national (in Australia) tour in January 2015.
"Golden Fog" is the debut song by Swedish band Holy (the project of musician Hannes Ferm), via Pnkslm (Pink Slum? I really don't understand these non-vowels 'rcdlbl'), taken from their forthcoming EP Silver Of your Heart. And speaking of bad names... apparently there is a hardcore Italian band also called Holy, so maybe they can take a cue from their record label and change their name to HLY.
Look for Holy's debut LP due early 2015.
