Lidell's highly-anticipated self-titled album just came out today (February 19th) on Warp Records. The lead single is called "You Naked", and you can watch the video on YouTube. ..…
Onstage at the Fine Line that night , he performed solo dressed in a long, white science coat, reminiscent of a crazy professor. That is exactly what he was that night, a crazy professor in his very own music lab, mixing and concocting. Although he uses his voice as his main instrument, he also utilizes sound machines to mix beats, melodies and soulful song, and the concoction created is a crazy, rave –like party. Pure fun.
He is not only a mad scientist of song, but also a soul singer and wonderful showman. As he performs, he runs around the stage, bopping between his large sound machine and the front of the stage putting on a show and engaging the audience. His vocal range and enthusiasm is incredible and he puts all he has into every note of his songs, seemingly feeling the music from his soul. Dripping in sweat by the end of the concert, the energy he exudes in wildly apparent and his enthusiasm is contagious. Voicing gratitude for his fans, his fans appreciated him right back, bustin’ a move throughout the concert in appreciation of this very talented, versatile musician. If you missed him at the Fine Line, check him out in the future if you can.
