Australia's The Cannanes are back. It's been four years since their last EP, but according to Fran Gibson and Stephen O'Neil, they'll be releasing a full length album Howling at All Hours in 2013 (and will likely do a world tour in support of it.)
I got a chance to listen to their preceding EP, Small Batch, which coming out on March 19th, 2013, and I have to say: I LOVE IT.
Singer Gibson sounds a little older, but she still sings well. My favorite and "danciest" song, "Basics", reminds me of why I love St Etienne, while their single, "Bumper", reminds me of the best parts of any indie-pop songs: a catchy melody, easy-on-the-ears vocals, a dash of odd horns section, and an extended psychedelic sixties organs/keys solo.

Sweden's indie-pop duo Marching Band will be releasing And I've Never Seen Anything Like That on January 15th, 2013. You know I love all things Sweden, so I will check it out when I'm not so internet-lacking.
Personally, I've never heard of them, but they tell me that if you watch Jersey Shore, you can hear their music in the final season.
