"Goldilocks Zone" is the new song from Grass Widow, which premiered on Pitchfork. The song is taken from their self-released record, available through ....
This was posted in May, but I just came across it via Judy Berman. This is the worst music review by I've ever read.
How could this get printed? I understand joke reviews, but this is really offensive. And, yes, it is online on vice.com.
Understandably, Grass Widow wants nothing to do with Vice ever again.
Anyway, Grass Widow will be heading out on tour this November.
Matt Bauer is offering a free song, "Blacklight Horses" from his upcoming album, The Jessamine County Book of the Living (out June 7th via Crossbill Records).....
Matt Bauer will be releasing No Shape Can Hold Me Now soon, and he's just shared a bonus track with everyone. It is his cover of Prince's "Under The Cherry Moon."
Impose Magazine had these nice words to say about the song, "Mr. Bauer here dons his best ruffled shirt and inflects more emotion along the way with a funeral march progression and solemn air to heighten the stakes."
Hear it for yourself on Soundcloud.
He's currently in a middle of his tour:
10.26.12 - Seattle, WA @ House Show +
11.03.12 - San Francisco, CA @ Ghost Mansion

Los Angeles' Diva Dompé released her album Moon Moods on October 9th. The interesting thing about the new album is that it was written and recorded first on a tascam 8-track cassette recorder using various instruments. The sound is cleaned up digitally but the cassette demos are still in the album.
I briefly mentioned that Diva is the daughter of Kevin Haskins (Bauhaus), but did you know she was in BlackBlack with her sister, Lola?
BlackBlack only released two EPs (the two EPs were combined into Mathom Records). The band, as they say, was literally "big in Japan."
Check it out, she's playing a special "Moon Block Party" on October 26th at the Echoplex.

Los Jardines de Bruselas' "On The Moon (Together)" premiered on Prefix Magazine late last month.

A little more information on Los Jardines de Bruselas: the name means The Gardens of Brussels in English. It's the stagename for Argentinian Ezequiel de la Parra. His debut album Floating in Dreams came out in 2010, and his latest album Light and Glow came out September 28th. It's a pay-what-you want model.
