If you have not heard, Dick Clark passed away yesterday due to a heart attack at the age of 82. Clark was the host of the longest-running variety show, "American Bandstand" (from 1957-1987). In his later years, he was known for being the annual host for ABC's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve".
Like many of you, I grew up watching Clark on "American Bandstand" and just took for granted that he will be there to welcome in the new year (although since 2009, Ryan Seacrest took over as host).
